New Zealand: An overview
New Zealand is stretched over three small islands and has a spectacular
landscape of rocky mountains, volcanic pools, lush green forests, glacier-fed
lakes and unending sandy beaches. Its culture is a blend of the Polynesian
(Maoris), European settlers and the Pacific Rim immigrants. The country offers a
lot of activities and adventure trips. You can sample some of the superb cuisine
and the wines of the region.
The cost of living in New Zealand is on a par with the UK. A two-course meal
with a glass of wine or beer could cost NZ$30/$15/£10/Є12 to NZ$50/$25/£18/Є20
while a bottle of wine is a lot cheaper than it is in the UK, costing around
NZ$/10$5/£3/Є4 to NZ$15/$7/£5/Є6.
